POLICY OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH AND
SAFETY
CRITERIA
The CFMEU FORESTRY AND
FURNISHING PRODUCTS DIVISION encourages delegates to
introduce a Code of Practice for Occupational Health and
Safety based on the following criteria.
- The need to have all hazards identified clearly
and all problems associated with work practice or
usage to be avoided.
- That the workplace will be designed in such a way
that will provide the safest work environment
possible.
- That management in conjunction with the Union will
be responsible to set down safe working procedures
within each workplace.
- That all employees, supervisiors and management
are made aware of their responsibilities within the
workplace to ensure a safe environment.
- That all First Aid and emergency procedures are
listed and responsibilities allocated.
- That all personnel are aware are shown timetables
of regular machinery and workshop maintenance.
- That regular training courses be made available to
all personnel responsible to carry out First Aid,
Emergency and maintenance procedures.
- That management will be responsible for and will
notify the Union of all results of environmental and
medical monitoring tests and programs.
- That all materials,
machinery and dangerous substances are clearly marked
in English and different ethnic languages so as to be
clearly understood.
