for the reading and application of the

1. INTRODUCTION
The CFMEU FOREST AND FOREST PRODUCTS DIVISION deplores
and condemns the activities of the New Right who are attempting
to lower living standards of working class people by the
introduction of attacks on working conditions and the
elimination of civil and political rights of individuals.
Such attacks on the working class of
this country can been seen by experiences of the
S.E.Q.E.E Dollar Sweets, Mudginberri, Peko Wallsend and
Besco Batteries disputes where long time established
industrial relations procedures were thrown out the
window and replaced by the most vicious anti Union
tactics experienced in this country.
The Trade
Union Movement must be made aware of the tactics and
participants of the New Right and in turn must send our
message to the people of this country expressing the
intentions of the New Right.
The CFMEU FOREST AND
FOREST PRODUCTS DIVISION for its part calls upon Federal
and State Branches to:
- Produce information to the membership informing
them of the participants and activities of the New
Right;
- To produce a regular National Newsletter;
- For organisers to raise the issue at all workplace
and mass meetings of members;
- To work in conjunction with all other Unions at
State and Federal Levels to protect our rights;
- To broaden out the protection of the Union movement
against such attacks by the working together and amalgamations
of Unions;
- To ensure that the education programs run by the
various Trade Union authorities make trade unionists
aware of the policies and tactics of the New Right;
- To support a positive image of the organised labor
movement into the schools by demanding equal access as
per enterprise Australia;
- An education program for all trade union officials
on the understanding of and dealing with the crisis
and how best we deal with the issues.
