International Federation of Building & Wood Workers
(IFBWW)

The Forestry & Furnishing Products Division was affiliated to the International Federation of Building & Wood Workers (IFBWW) from 1993 - 2001. The IFBWW represents 271 unions and 13 million members in 115 countries.

The IFBWW is an international union organisation established in 1934 by a merger of the Building Workers International and Wood Workers International.

The IFBWW promotes principles of international solidarity and is an active defender of human & trade union rights. They seek to unite & represent all free and democratic trade unions in the building, wood, forestry & allied industries.

The National Secretary of the Forestry & Furnishing Products Division - Trevor Smith was elected Vice President of the Asia/Pacific Region for the IFBWW at the 20th World Congress, in Harare 1997, a position he held until 2001.
As Vice President he represented the Asia/Pacific region on the IFBWW Executive & Management Committee & the Wood & Forestry Committee.

The Secretary of the Victorian Branch - Jane Calvert held the position of the 1st Vice Chair for the IFBWW International Womens Committee, elected at the 20th World Congress, in Harare 1997, a position she held until 2001.

Our involvement on an international level is imperative if we are to address trade union issues on a global scale.
