CFMEU FORESTRY AND FURNISHING PRODUCTS DIVISION NATIONAL DIVISIONAL POLICY ON NATIONAL HEALTH NATIONAL HEALTH POLICY This document sets out the Policy of the CFMEU FORESTRY AND FURNISHING PRODUCTS DIVISION on National Health for the information of Members, Representatives and Officials. This Policy is binding on all CFMEU FORESTRY AND FURNISHING PRODUCTS DIVISION Members and Officials. Any queries about the Policy should be directed to either the Branch or National Divisional Office. The CFMEU FORESTRY AND FURNISHING PRODUCTS DIVISION supports the retention and expansion of Medicare as the National Health Scheme. We condemn actions by sections of the organised medical profession aimed at reducing the effectiveness of Medicare. We call upon State and Federal Governments to refuse all demands aimed at reducing the effectiveness of Medicare. We support nationalising sections of the Australian economy and consider Medicare to be one of the areas requiring nationalisation. Accordingly we support and call on the Trade Union Movement to defend the Medicare Scheme and act to extend it by use of every means available to the Trade Union Movement.
